Last night I attended the graduation party of two fabulous young women...sisters...the younger of whom (pictured at right) was the very first student I ever enrolled in my very first AMI Montessori school 15 years ago. It was an incredibly special moment for me. It seems like only yesterday that she was a tiny three-year-old...the ONLY student in my brand new school...and now she's off to a top university where she has been accepted into their prestigious acting prorgam. What's more, there happened to be two other young adults (also pictured) at the party who attended my school in its very earliest years and both of them are now off at great colleges, too. What a momentous occasion...seeing these kids having grown up into poised, confident and high functioning adults. I'm certainly not going to say that Montessori is the sole reason they've turned out so beautifully.... but I like to think it played a small part in starting them on their way. :) My always rewarding career as a Montessori educator proved even more gratifying than usual last night!
